Will Smith

2001-2002

I dont think there was a single person in our group of friends who could have held animosity towards Will, as his character was truly endearing, he was unwittingly one of the funniest people I have ever met, below are just a few of the funny times we had (often at Wills expense) that we will hopefully never forget!

From the 1st year Wills love of his mum and home proved endearing to us all, and we all remember his weekly trips home where hed put his smartest clothes on for his mum!  Will was not the biggest fan of dressing up smartly but when it came to ball time we all has to endure the formality of the event.  I remember Will got his new suit and some of us were walking past his room in Skeff when we could see him dancing in the mirror to Robbie Williams, one of those things we all do but would never wanna be discovered doing (maybe not to Robbie though eh?!).

Wills rising bank balance will also be a memory we will all keep, the face of a baffled Will as he told us all how every time he took money out his balance got larger.  Upon showing us this it was predictably discovered that there was an OD next to the balance (although I dont remember any of us suggesting this prior to us getting to the cash point!)

After a month of living in the house in the second year; peach, mike, me, will (and someone else?) were in the Peachsters bedroom when Will and Mike decided they would go to Hogans to get some lunch, the rest of us declined and they left us in Peachs room.  Moments later Will returned, mouth open, speechless and shaking his head, when we asked what was up he revealed I didnt know we had a second toilet, after a month of living there Will had failed to spot the door which you pass every time you go upstairs (and thus to his room).  You have to give it to Mike though, he did well hunting it down!

When Will was out once at Rachels, Dave was doing the usual search through the cupboards trying to find scraps of food to munch on,  he called us all in to Wills room because he had discovered a single jar of cinnamon.  Will was not a big fan of baking or anything we could think of that would require cinnamon.  I then recalled something I had once read in FHM about it making a certain bodily fluid taste sweeter.  We were then perplexed about what Will would have added this to, and as we opened the cap we all saw large finger prints in it, used to scrape out cinnamon for Will to eat straight from the jar..nice.

Another thing Will will be remembered for was his generosity towards homeless people and he frequently gave away all his change, only then to have none for the taxi so wed then have to cover his fare. Another example of Wills generosity can be taken from a night in Varsity where he decided it was necessary to continually buy bottles of drink (which he didnt like) from a bird cause she looked bored; selfless or on the pull, you decide?!  The final memory of Wills generosity I am gonna mention is his purchasing of chocolates for the house in the second year, he knew I didnt like chocolates so Im not sure in why he persisted to buy me them but it was a sweet gesture, just as well anyway as I had to give mine to Peach to supplement his inevitably mini chocolate bar!

Events that happened in the third year bought us closer together, and made us all realise the true value of friendship, we will never be able to forget a great friend to us all; Will Smith.
